This is a lesson specifically targeted for Total English 1 Lesson 3A ( Target Sentence: I'm Ben Wilson. I'm from Canada).
This activity is divided into two parts, listening and writing. Part A is the listening part. You may change the characters name to suit your need. The ALT reads the prepared description of each character and the students write the number accordingly.
1. Hello. I'm Emily. I'm 12 years old.
2.Hello. I'm Shohei Otani. I`m from Hokkaido.
3.Hello. I'm Mao. I like basketball.
4.Hello. I'm Jim. I'm from America.
5.Hello. I'm Kim. I'm from South Korea.
6.Hello. I'm Ken. I'm very sleepy.
7.Hello. I'm Anna. I'm 15 years old.
ALT reads each item twice or thrice depending on the level of the students. I usually just read it twice. Alternatively, you can have the JTE do the reading part.
The Part B is very easy because the students will just have to write the correct order of the words to form a correct sentence. This is the same as the ones they have on their tests. The JTEs like this kind of writing activity because it helps the students practice for their tests.
