a group activity coupled with a speaking practice work sheet

Summer jeopardy lesson plan

Materials:

• laminated A4 size papers(one for each group)
• white board markers
• erasers(cleaning white sponges from Daiso-TML)
• pencils

The Jeopardy has 4 categories (for the places category direct the students to their Here we go 1 textbook p.48).

Divide the students into groups of 4/5. After explaining to the students how the game is played, have the 1st group select one category and how much points. The students should then write their answers on the white board provided. I gave them 10 seconds to do so. After the time is up, the students should raise their white boards so that their answers can be verified. Then points can be allocated in accordance with the groups that answered correctly. Then the next group should choose the category and the number of points and so on and so forth.

Worksheet
This is a simple worksheet. The students will take turns asking and answering the question: ‘‘what do you do during the summer vacation?’’
Once this is done they should write their friend’s name and their answer on the sheet of paper. Each student should speak to a total of four students.

if your lesssons are 50 minutes like mine. you can do a hot potato for the last 5 minutes and ask the students the question at random.
