I made this yesterday while planning for next school year's lessons and I had this idea about betting on horses at first then on cars but I didn't know how to do it. I tried with the basic motion paths animation but they don't look clean/smooth at all. If you have any ideas on how I can make it look better, please let me know. TIA!✨
This can be used maybe on lesson 6 or 7 of Unit 2, in preparation for the students' presentation, and to review and practice the adverbs of frequency and daily routines as well.
Print and distribute the worksheets.
Slide 1: Activity intro
Slide 2: Explain that there will be 3 races today and they need to bet on the cars they think will get to the finish line first. Show an example of how they can mark their worksheet for each round.
Slide 3: This is Race 1's car showdown. Elicit the color and sentence of each car. Explain that they will have 15 secs to choose a car they think will win on the race and mark on their worksheet. Click on the red circle to start the 15秒 timer. Check to see if everyone marked on their worksheets.
Slide 4: Click the 'Race 1' box to show the gif of the timer and once it reaches go or even at 0, click the 'Race 1' box again to hide it. It will then trigger the race to start. When the cars reached the finish line, click once to highlight the winner of the race and elicit the sentence from the students.
(I haven't decided yet what to do with the winners and how to make it like they're actually betting. I'll update this once I got a good idea.)
Slide 5: same as slide 3
Slide 6: same as slide 4
Slide 7: same as slides 3 and 5
Slide 8: It's a little different. Same as slides 4 and 6, click the 'Race #' box to show the countdown and once again to hide it. This time though, you need to click the box again to trigger the start of the race. I made a mistake somewhere...and the rest of the animations are the same as slides 4 and 6.
Slides 9 and 10: Put the adverbs, daily routine, and weekends cards on the board to help students with the writing task.

Maybe it's my presentation software, I'm using WPS Presentation. On the last race around the circuit, the audio clip thats triggered on the 3rd click messes up the car animations. They get to the first turn and just sit there cause it's set to change when the music ends. Might just be a me problem!
It's probably a presentation problem. I'll fix it later. Thank you!
