Comparative Shopping

Students are divided into shopkeepers and customers and role play. Customers use comparative adjectives to request a different item.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  • Distribute the shopkeepers and customer sheets evenly among the class.
  • There are 2 different types of shopkeepers and 2 different types of customers.
  • Demonstrate with the JTE.
  • Shopkeepers remain seated while customers walk around trying to find everything on the list within a time limit. If one shopkeeper doesn't have the item they need the customer must seek out the other shopkeeper and ask them.
  • Customers exchange worksheets with shopkeepers and repeat.

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Make sure students are using English.
  • This activity is specifically for Sunshine 2 Speaking 5.
