Jujutsu Kaisen Halloween Battle Royale

A fun battle royale type of game for kids to do around Halloween time. Since JJK is very popular\known (at least in my schools), I decided to make a battle royale game.

Basic necessities:

Print outs/laminated Jujutsu Kaisen Characters. (word doc with the photos provided at the bottom)
An eraser (or something students can try to grab)
Smart board

Detailed instructions:

  • Start off by numbering the students 1 & 2 at the beginning of class. I usually just go down the rows, but doesn’t really matter. (try to separate the smart kids who know english really well evenly)

  • After you numbered the whole class, split the class. The ones gather to one side of the room, twos gather at the otherside. Make sure to do “Team select” before doing the rules. There will only be 2 teams. (Ones= Team Tokyo, Twos= Team Kyoto)

  • Instead of a regular points based system to determine the winner, I decided to do something different. The point system is hard to describe, but very easy to understand it’s referenced in the powerpoint!

  • I draw the point system on the board and put Gojo’s laminated head in the center of it with the JJK characters at either side.
Instead of the kids choosing the number (like mario classroom blast), the questions will just go in order.

(there is game instructions in the ppt as well)
Game flow:

  • Bring one person from 2 teams to the front. You will start at question 1. Who ever grabs the eraser first, get to answer.
  • If they answer correctly, Gojo’s head will move one space closer to the other team.
  • After answering correctly, they get to decide a punishment box for the “loser”. There are several punishments already linked, but you can change them to your discretion.
  • There is a “-1” punishment meaning, whoever answered correctly and chose that punishment box, makes Gojo’s head move one space closer to their own team. (hence the battling part).

  • When you’re on the punishment screen, have the loser do whatever it says. When that’s done, have the next 2 people come to the front of the class.
-Click Gojo’s head to go back to the question homepage screen, and go to the next question.

  • If the student answers incorrectly, they must put the eraser back down before trying again, or let the other student try to answer.

  • When all 24 questions have been answered, go back to the question homepage and click Gojo’s head in the center. Then click on whichever team won.

Emphasis on:
I would emphasize that the "-1" punishment affects your own team, so be careful in deciding which punishment box.
Also, emphasize that the punishment is random.

How to win:

Get Gojo’s head to the otherside first! Very simple

(You can edit the questions for higher or lower level classes)

I'm not sure if JJK is very popular with my students, but this powerpoint is absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the amount of work that you put into making it. お疲れ様です!

So, what do you do if students can't answer the punishment? Or is there a time limit for the punishment completion. Is that also a minus one point then?

My students absolutely loved this activity, and it filled up the whole ~40min class time. Thank you! It got them really excited and competitive.

@alphase, I would ideally try to get them to do it. But if they can't, you can ask the class to help them. The main reason I repeated the punishments were to drill in some important vocab. But if it's too hard, you can always go in and change it for your class level!

I updated the powerpoint, some missing text for some reason.

How do you keep your whole class engaged? It's tough to keep the whole class on track when the game only involves two students at a time.

This is absolutely spectacular! Well done! I'm a Jujutsu fan myself and am in love XD Will be playing this with my kids soon. Thank you so much.

@beccawakannai Maybe change the questions to something more engaging! Like a history lesson (some did you know questions with guessing), you're free to change the powerpoint questions to whatever you see fit. The questions don't strictly have to be book review
