DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  • After giving each student a bingo sheet and character card, they walk around and have the following conversation:

  • A: "Who is he/she?" (Shows B their character card)

  • B: "He/she is...." (Circles A`s character on their bingo sheet)

  • Reverse roles and repeat.

  • Reward students who get a few bingos (3 bingos takes about 5 minutes).

VARIATIONS:

  • Change the target sentence to meet your needs, for example A: "Who is Mario?" B:"He is Luigi`s friend."

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Demonstrate the game with the JTE before starting.
  • For bad/low-level classes hold up the cards and ask the whole class "Who is he/she?" before starting.

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • Be careful of mistakes like this: A: "Who is he?" B: "Who is Mario."
  • Make sure all students clearly understand the meaning of who/he/she before starting.
