DETAILED EXPLANATION:
- Call out a number within the target set and have the students form groups based upon that number. After they have formed their groups, have them sit down.
- Practice this for awhile, then start the game.
- Students that can't form the target number are out. If the competition is too much, take this option out of the game.
VARIATIONS:
- Try math problems. Give the students a simple problem and have them form numbered groups based on the answer. (e.g. students would form groups of 7 if they were given the problem '3 + 4'.
- Call out, "zero" and see what the students do. This might be a great way to end the game.
TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:
- It is highly recommended to clear the desks/chairs to the sides of the classroom.
- Have the HRT join groups when necessary.
