DETAILED EXPLANATION:
After passing out the worksheet to students and telling them to fold it in half so that they can't see the area that says Madlib, explain to them to fill in the the section labeled "Words" with random words that fit the grammatical functions that are written in Japanese. Tell them not to think too hard about it. Just write anything that comes to mind. Give them about 10 minutes to do so.

- 07. Something you can ride on or in (car, etc.)

Now tell them to put the words that they just wrote in to the appropriate numbered locations on the bottom half of their worksheet labeled "Madlib." Give them about 5-7 minutes for this.
Tell them to make groups and read their stories to each other. This should take 10-15 minutes.
After they have finished that, pass out the translation slip and have them fill in the words that they wrote in English in to the appropriate numbered locations on the Japanese translation sheet, but in Japanese. This will give them full comprehension of what they wrote down.
TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:
- Do a demo of the first half of the activity (the writing words portion) before you have your students do it, to show them that they can use really random words.
- After you tell them that the words that they wrote will become a strange story, read your story to them.
TIPS/CAUTIONS:
- I put the verb translations on the worksheet for students to be able to quickly translate their stories without having to look through their glossary.
