My Crazy Family

This information gap activity is fairly self-explanatory. Students work in pairs to complete the worksheet.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • MyCrazyFamily worksheet - half of the class receives 'worksheet A' and the other 'worksheet B'.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  • Divide the class up in pairs.
  • Students janken to determine who goes first.
  • Students take turns and help each other fill in the blanks on each sheet. "This is ___. She is ___."

VARIATIONS:

  • If the class is more quick to understand the grammatical point, change the worksheet to say things such as "She is 14 years old" or "He is from Malaysia."

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • Make sure students are not just looking off their partner's worksheet. If they are, have them keep it a secret as if they were playing Battleship.
