Activity

Buddy Chain Game

Short interview style game to practice 3rd person verb questions

Its played in two rounds.

Demonstrate with the teacher using enlarged copies. Go through each of the questions about the boy and circle one of the two choices. This will be your character's 'Yes, he does' answers. Demonstrate doing this secretly.

Then make a pair with the teacher showing the class your paper but not the teacher. Ask four questions picking which option you like. It doesn't have to be the same option you circled. For each 'Yes, he does' answer you get a point. After you're finished record the name and how many points you got. The teacher then does the same. Before the students start the activity be sure to practice the questions and how to answer a couple of times.

The students make pairs and play three times before returning to their seats. Once a few students have returned to their seats I call time up and everyone goes back to their seats. Then check points and clap for the kids with the highest points. Then go onto round two with the same format.

I usually follow this up with an interview activity where the students work in groups to interview me about my friends or family members.
