Pronoun Karuta (her/him/them)

Students test their listening skills and their ability to differentiate between he/she/they and him/her/them by playing karuta.

There are eighteen different cards. Each card contains a person (or people) thinking about someone with either a heart or an X through the thought bubble. The heart represents like and the X represents doesn't like.

The first page of cards (without the text) is to be cut out and used for the game.
These are the cards:
She likes him. She likes them. She likes her.
She doesn't like him. She doesn't like them. She doesn't like her.
He likes her. He likes them. He likes her.
He doesn't like her. He doesn't like them. He doesn't like her.
They like him. They like her. They like them.
They don't like him. They don't like her. They don't like them.

The second page (the pictures with the text) are to practice the sentences as a class before playing the game.
The third page has enlarged pictures to cut out and use for demonstration and can also be used to show the answers after you give the commands for karuta.

Use this today, went great! We all had fun. A few times to throw them off because they would guess based off the start of the sentence when there were less options, I would say "They like (teachers name)", and they thought it was hilarious!

I think this is good, but just a tip is maybe you could mix it up so it is harder for the students to find it!

This is exact what I am looking for, but how do you use these? Is it a matching game?
      The third page is blank.
