Is There Any Milk?

This is an activity to practice using countable and non-countable nouns.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  • One group/person chooses a basket on the worksheet and the other group/person has to find the basket by asking questions to narrow it down: "Is there any milk," or "Are there any sandwiches," etc. Students respond with: "Yes, there is/are," or "No, there is/are not."
  • I normally allow three questions then they have to decide a number (choose a basket) so the final question would be; "Are you basket 3?" etc.

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Can be played one on one or in small groups.
  • It is best played after reviewing the grammar point and not as an introduction to the grammar point.
