Activity

Do you have anything to...?

Information gap activity made for New Horizon 2, Unit 3

This is an information gap activity to review the to-infinitive (形容詞的用法). Students can practice asking their classmates, "Do you have anything to (eat, drink, etc)?"

Before the activity: Review the grammar point with warm-up games and/or example sentences.

Hand out worksheet and item cards (you will have to prepare these in advance). This card will show them their 3 secret items.

Demonstrate dialogue with JTE and have students practice reading each question.

A: Do you have anything to eat?
B: Yes, I do. I have a donut.

Step 1: Students interview their classmates and fill in the table on the worksheet with the secret items. I give the students 10 minutes to do this.
I usually make it a rule that students can only use one person for one answer, so that they have to talk to more people.

Reward any students who can find all 7 items :)

Step 2: If you have time, students can use the information from the table to write 4 sentences, eg: Alisha has a donut to eat.

I used some art uploaded by altopedia user altirasuto to make the worksheet :)
